Shane Brit with Scotch Plywood of Waynesboro MS brought Phillip Johnston down to Hopedale for 2 days for some Louisiana Speckled trout and Red fishing.

Day 1- The guys were little sluggish this morning from the late night they had but were awakened to trout thrashing on the surface trying to shake the hook. We worked several spots but with no tide the bite was slow. Finally got onto a good bite and finished up fishing plastics under corks to finish out their limit. Good trout but not big 1 to 2 lbs. It was hot and Phillip and Shane were tired so we headed in. 50 Trout

Day 2 – The guys got some rest last night and were rearing to go. We discussed our options for the day and it was to go for big reds and trout. Headed to the outside and picked up a few big trout on croakers but the bite was slow. Decided to try the reds and BAM ZZZZZ Phillip was hooked into a beast. Long fight and the Bull was in the net 37 inches. A little while later Phillip is hooked up again. Then Shane got his bull on and into the boat. I offered to go look for trout but they wanted to stay on the reds. We played Catch and release with the BIG BULLS the rest of the morning and headed in early with BIG SMILES and satisfied fisherman.
