Over the course of the last month or so dolphin fishing has had it's peaks and valleys. On some days the dolphin have been relatively easy to find and on others they have been playing hide and seek. Most of the fish being caught have been on the small side but there are still enough nice ones to keep things interesting. Hope fully the weather will settle into a nice rhythm for a while.
On days where it's been to rough to run around hunting for dolphin we have opted to fish the reefs and wrecks with some success. Some of the fish being caught are: kingfish, mutton snapper, bonito, and barracudas. Most of the fish have been caught on live bait using a variety of methods.
Some of the best fishing that is happening right now is occurring at night over the reefs. Snapper fishing is now in full swing. Both yellowtails and mangrove snappers are out patrolling the reefs at night. It is not uncommon to limit out on these fish in only a few hours of fishing. The large mangroves are getting ready to spawn and the action should peak real soon.
During the months of May and June I've had to cancel a few trips and reschedule others due to weather. I still have several dates available for July so if you're interested in getting out there give me a call.
