Sunday was a fun day on the Beach. Paul Mavis, Pablo Valera, Henry Castillo, and Henry's uncle joined me for a day in the Sound. First we stopped at Campo's for shrimp and Croakers then headed for the Sound. There were boats already on the first two rigs I wanted to fish, but my third choice was a good one. Fishing with a Carolina rig on the bottom the guys were putting some nice Trout in the boat. This bite faded and the small Trout took over. We made a move a little further out and here we got on some big Trout. We were not the only ones there trying to catch Trout as you can see in the photo of the nice Trout head Pablo pulled in. He also caught and released a big Red. The Sharks were a little of a pain and eventually killed our bite, but not before the guys caught there limits and the box was stuffed. These guys have fished with me several times and as always had fun and were fun to fish with. Total catch for the day was 116 Trout, 2 Flounder, 1 Red (released), and some Whites and Channels.
The legend continues. Blackie Campo's is open with live bait, ice, fuel, and 2 back down ramps. Come on down and see what a great fishery we have in the Shell Beach area. Call United Charters now for your next fishing adventure 504-439-1680.
