With the water temps in the 80's for the first time this year, the tarpon have moved out of the passes on to the beaches. The full moon has put 1000's of tarpon on the beach and Eagmont hole,a number of fish over 200 lbs have been caught.Live carbs come out of the bay on the moon phases and out going tides.FWC has said the tarpon spawn is 3 to 4 weeks late,which is good for the beach fishermen.The fish cruise the beach going North and South during the tides.Wait for them about 50 yds off the beach with live silver dollard size crabs and spinning rod or fly rod.It' not uncommon to see schools of 300 hundred coming your way.Fishing with Henry Cannon and Web Young the other day. Web caught a 140 lb plus Tarpon on a Twitty bird fly, the fish was boated after a hour and half fight.
