Today I launched with some guys from Argentina, and it is nice meeting people from all around the world. This month I have had guests from England, Netherlands, Canada, Portugal, Germany, USA, Argentina and Brazil.
We got underway at around 06h30 and the was a light NW wind which later shifted to a light SE wind, the sea was flat, the water warm at 22.5 deg. C and the water was crystal clear. The sunset was not as nice as yesterday but still beautiful. It is days like this that I give thanks for being able to do what I do.
Again we saw a Whale swimming by and isolated Dolphins mostly swimming alone or in small groups. The we not many birds around like the day before but we still had our few resident Albatross's hanging around the boat, which my guests always have great fun feeding them the Red Eye Sardines and Sand Soldiers that we catch whilst fishing for live bait.
I headed straight for the same spot where we got the Yellowfin Tuna yesterday, but today the mackerel where scarce and we got mostly small ones as opposed to the large ones we got yesterday.
I had told my guests about the day before, but I could see that they thought it was a story and so I left it at that knowing full well that they would see for themselves.
I then swam the 2nd Mackerel that we caught and almost instantly the reel screamed as the line went tight whilst peeling of the reel, the "fighter" was then chosen and he had a real battle on his hands catching the biggest fish of his life. 20 minutes or so later we landed a Yellowfin Tuna well over 20Kg. I am particularly proud of this catch as the fish was boated using relatively light tackle being a Shimano Trevala 7' medium light equipped with a Torium 20.
We caught another 4 Yellowfin Tuna under 10Kg and lost another 2 but today the Sharks left our fish alone. The trip was cut short due to sea sickness but everyone was happy as they all landed the biggest fish of their lives.
