Claude Clark of Fairhope Alabama set up this trip for his daughter Laura and let her bring along her friend Mary Kate. The last trip Claude made Laura was supposed to come be she had gotten sick the night before and could not make it and Claude was in trouble because we limited out on trout and reds with out her.
Today I was determined to get these young girls into some fish. I went to where I left the trout yesterday but no tide and no bites. Hit a couple of spots and then got a few nice ones in. I stayed there fishing croakers on the bottom and the girls with shrimp 3 ft deep. The bite was slow and steady one every 10 minutes or so but all fish 2 to 3 lbs. The girls were catching all the fish AWESOME. I noticed the tide starting to fall and repositioned the boat slightly to better fish the structure and the fish turned on. The girls were hooked up left and right for awhile and Claude managed to catch a few too.
The bite was short lived but we had put together and fine box of quality trout in a few hours.
Headed into the marsh to try and get them on some reds but only caught one. It was getting HOT and the girls were tired along with rain on the horizon so we called it a day and headed for the dock. I had a lot fun today watching these young girls catching those big trout. Claude and I agreed it was an AWESOME DAY and we would not have had any other way. I guess Claude is out of the woods now. 67 SPECKLED TROUT 2 to 3 lbs 1 REDFISH CAPT.
