Nikao Fishing Adventures took 2 clients from USA out for a day of Tiger Fish fishing at Lake Jozini also known as Pongolapoort Dam.
The weather was superb, and the water temperature was warm, the water was slightly stained.
We decided to target the Tiger Fish on a new method of artificial lures using soft plastics, and jig heads like they do for saltwater dropshot. The Tiger Fish were taking on Greens and Yellows and in the end we landed 9 fish all between 2Kg and 3.5Kg, and so the new drop shot method proved itself to be a worthy way to target the Tiger Fish. The Strike King 4" glass minnows in Green/Gold Flake on a ¼ ounce jig head with a 2/0 hook was responsible for most of our catch.
I have 2 more trips up there in the next month or so, and we will definitely be using this method again.
