Tons of fun and fish Thursday on the Beach. My guest were Bob Bell and his son Mathew from Vicksburg, MS. At our first stop in the Sound we got on a good Trout bite fishing with a live shrimp and minnows under a cork. Mathew was on fire and was constantly hooked up with a Trout. He even managed to pull a few good keeper reds into the boat. Once the bite slowed down Bob said he wanted to catch a big Redfish. We moved to a favorite rig of mine for Reds and in minutes they both were hooked up with some monsters. They kept one of the smaller ones and let the other Gorillas go. From here went moved to another rig and picked up some more nice Trout and a bunch of Sheepshead. We needed another 11 Trout to finish off our limits so we stopped back over where we started out and the Trout were eating up. In a few minutes limits were done and the fish box was over flowing. Total take home for the day was 75 Trout, 6 Reds, 17 Heads, and 1 Flounder.
The Trout are on and the fishing in Shell Beach is outstanding. Campo's is open with fuel, bait, ice, and the newly improved back down ramps are open. Nice and easy launching with helpful advice from the Campo's is waiting for you. For your next fishing adventure call United Charters, dates are filling fast. Very nice over night accommodations are avalible. 504-439-1680.
