Tough Thursday on the Beach. I picked up Joey and his wife Jennifer at Campo's where we loaded up with their famous live shrimp and croakers. We were greeted by a stiff NW wind as we headed out. This ruled out one of the areas I wanted to fish that produced well the day before. We bounced around all over the Sound with little to show for, two Trout and a couple of Bull Reds hook ups to go with the tons of Hardheads and Sailcats. We moved closer in to fish on the protected edges and got on a few good Trout with lots of throw backs mixed in. We then worked the rocks for a little while where Jennifer caught the Trout of the day. It was a tough day for fishing, but they had fun scraping together a box of 25 Trout and 1 Sheepshead. It definitely was one of those, "you should have been here yesterday" kind of days.
The Trout are on and the fishing in Shell Beach is outstanding. Campo's is open with fuel, live bait, ice, and the newly improved back down ramps are open. Nice and easy launching with helpful advice from the Campo's is waiting for you. For your next fishing adventure call United Charters, dates are filling fast. Very nice over night accommodations are avalible. 504-439-1680.
