Jimmy Vidrine his son Bret and Nick Sanchez and his sin Jacob were down Hopedale way today and ready to get these two youngsters into some fish. Well the wind was strong and from the West which is not the best for Hopedale area. So I headed to where I left them the other day and got a trout few on ice. Wanted to try the rigs before it got to rough only to find 1 or 2 trout willing. Started to work our way back in for some reds when we came across a school of trout feeding outside a drain in Lake Campo. Steady action for awhile the kids and dad's having fun. The wind seemed to lay down so I headed back to where we started and found them in the mood but it was a slow bite. Shrimp under corks was the way to go no action on the croakers. Worked the area hard until the bite quit. A few more spots and then headed in at 1 PM with a good box of trout. Fished hard and it paid off despite the poison of the west wind.
