Trout slam Sunday on the Beach. Duke and Amanda Wichers met me a Campo's and from there we headed to the Sound on a pretty day with no wind finally. The tide was not moving much, but no one told the Trout. Right from the start they were putting some pretty Trout in the boat with Hybrid Flurry 3' under a cork. I joined in on the fun and by 10am we put our limits of Trout (14'-22') on ice along with a couple of Reds. With Trout done we made a move to get on some more rod bending action. Here we fished with dead shrimp adding a dozen big Sheepshead to the box, along with a monster Drum Duke caught and released. Great day on the water and Duke and Amanda had a great time. Total for the day was 75 Trout, 2 Reds, and 12 Sheepshead.
The Trout have turned on and the fishing in Shell Beach is outstanding. Campo's is open with fuel, bait, ice, and the newly improved back down ramps are open. Nice and easy launching with helpful advice from the Campo's is waiting for you. For your next fishing adventure call United Charters, dates are filling fast. 504-439-2680.
