Tuesday from the Beach. Onboard were Mark Livaudais brought his sons Charley and Robert along with his nephew Will. As we pulled out we were greeted by a stiff North West wind. We made a couple of stops in Eloi, but could not get much going in the rough dirty water. We moved over to the other side of the MRGO and got on several fast Trout bites, but lots of small fish. We got on one good bite of decent Trout that was cut short by Flipper. The porpoise moved in to get in on the Trout action too. One even came about a 2' behind the boat, stuck his head up and looked at us. The guys asked about catching some Reds so we went looking for some. We found lots of under sized rat reds, but the guys also did get a few keepers and some Drum too. They had a great time and I look forward to seeing them again come October. Total take home for the day was 50 Trout, 3 Reds, 5 Drum, and 4 Sheepshead.
The Trout are on and the fishing in Shell Beach is outstanding. Campo's is open with fuel, live bait, ice, and the newly improved back down ramps are open.
