Two days of fun on the Beach with Mark Boykin, his Dad CW, and brother in law Allen. Tuesday morning we were greeted by perfect conditions. The wind was still, the water like glass and fish busting the surface. We started off a small wellhead in the Sound and the water was boiling with bait and fish. Some nice Trout were coming into the boat and even a few Trout and Reds were caught on top water. It did not take long for the Bull Reds to show up and CW hooked into a monster that put a smile on his face for the rest of the day. After they put over 40 Trout on ice the Sharks and Bulls got to be too much so off we went. We moved on over to a wellhead in Black Bay, but the tide was still. We tried our live shrimp from Campos every way you can, under a cork, on the bottom, and free lined, but only found a couple of catfish interested. I made a cast right under the rig with a Carolina rigged shrimp and immediately got nailed by a fat Trout. We then all switched to this and the Trout and Sheepshead were filling the box fast, and in no time limits were done. Total for day one was 100 Trout, 1 Red (many others released), 3 Spanish, and 8 Sheepshead.

For day number two the wind shifted and was blowing. We made our way out to the same rig we started off with the day before. We did not find many Trout, but the Big Reds were thick and limits were done on them in short order. Off we went o look for Trout. At our next stop we got on a good Trout bite fishing under a cork. The fish were very nice sized and fast. The bite was hard, fast, and short. Tried to get them going again, but no luck. From there we bounced around a few wellheads in the area picking up a few at each till the guys had their limits. Total for day 2 was 75 Trout, 4 Reds, 4 Sheepshead, and 4 Spanish. It was two fun filled days on the water with some great guys.

Come on down and see what a great fishery we have in the Shell Beach area. Be sure stop by Campos for their friendly service, world famous live shrimp and croakers, ice, fuel, and launch. Call United Charters now for your next fishing adventure 504-439-1680.
