Two fun days at the Beach to end a very good year. I had the pleasure of fishing with Joe Posont and his son Robert from Nebraska on the 30th and 31st. Day one started out with some ugly weather. A front was backing up making for wet windy conditions. We started out in the Biloxi Marsh fishing in the bayou on the bottom with Bayou Chubs. We caught plenty of Trout, but they were small and hardly any keepers. Moved around a little and ended up in Stump where we got on some good keeper Trout with very few throwbacks. Total for day one was 60 Trout and 1 Sheepshead. Sunday morning (day two) started out with a lot better conditions than the day before. It was clear and cold early, but warmed up nice later in the morning and that is when the fish turned on. We started out making a bunch of moves with little to show for. We did get on a fast and fun bite near Lake Robin, but they were all 11.5". It was fast action, but no meat. The tide started coming in and the water warmed up around noon. We were drifting in Point Finne when we all got on some fast bites with Bayou Chubs under a cork. I stuck the anchor and we did not move till number 75 hit the ice. Total was 75 Trout and 6 Sheepshead. It was a great way to cap off two fun days with them. Joe and Robert had a great time and can't wait to get back down again.
