The angling for Chinook salmon has really picked up over the last few days. A change in weather really helped also. With winds almost Nil the weekend May days were breathtaking. Guide Mike and Guide Jon have been doing well at Southbank but on Saturday decided to start at Great Bear. With not much success both guides decided to pull the gear out of the water and headed west to longbeach. What a great choice. Both guides picked up four beautiful Chinook for their guests. Mike had a couplke of the biggest fish. He found a 24 and a 20 pound chinook for guests who had opportunity to play up to 8 salmon during the day. The fish were in 75 to 115 feet of water and were going after anchovy in a purle Haze teaser head and were also very attracted to the white hootchie with 42 to 44 inches of leader behind a plaid flaher. The halibut are also really beginning to pickup. The summer fishing for halibut and salmon looks very good. Call doug at 250 724 2502 for details.
