Crappie fishing has still been pretty good over the last few days. Crappie fishing is still best early in the morning and then slows when the sun gets high and hot. Spider Rigging the channel ledges has been real slow, so for the last few days I have been catching most of my crappie on deep water brush piles in 14 to 16 feet of water. Most of my better catches have come off brush located in feeder creeks just off the main Coosa. We have been fishing these brush piles with a live bait drop shot rig and doing real good. Also shooting docks with Southern Pro Stinger in Black / Blue Chartreuse on a 1/24 oz head is producing good catches. Docks with 6 to 8 feet of water in front of them seem to be doing the best right now. I will be out on the water later on next week and hope to have a good report. This is a great time to start planning your fall fishing trip here on Weiss we will book up fast for these days and the fishing will be great. Fall fishing will start in late September and run thru mid to late November.
