Some late March heavy winds has made fishing difficult on The West Coast of Canada.
There are plenty of winter chinook around but one just cannot get out to fish. Next week and the first week of April look good as the last of the winter storms hopefully disappear for good. Ling Cod season opens on april 15th and we have already picked up a couple of 15 pound halibut in the South Bank area. We are gearing up for our April and May SEAFOOD SAFARI. We are fishing prawns, crab, clams, salmon, bottom fish and halibut. This is a wonderful experience and after a day of fishing what a SEAFOOD TREAT for you and your friends. E mail dlindy@shaw.ca to book your trip.
Guide Matt had only one day this week that was pleasant enough to salmon fish and that was off of Begg Island and Mara Rock. There were lots of salmon but most were in the 7 to 9 pound range. Watermelon coyote spoon and a purple haze hootchie behind a plaid hotspot flasher seemed to work best. There are plenty of chinook in the area and the weather is looking better. There will be some wonderful early spring days on the water.
Summer fishing for halibut and salmon looks phenomenol. We are located on the backdoor of the Pacific and it is forecast that there will be good numbers of chinook and coho and halibut.
