Today I had the pleasure of fishing with Randall Boudreaux from Marrero again. He brought Collin aka Colon, Craig, and Bryan. We were going to head deep in the Sound today but mother nature had other plans for us.
When we got out to the edges it was white caps and winds blowing at a stiff clip! So I stopped short off the MRGO and immediately we got on a steady trout bite. The guys had to weed out some small stuff in the mix.
Once it played out we made a move close in to a lee shoreline with some clean water and found the trout eating up! The trout were coming in quick with not many throwbacks at all. Sure enough, the bite went tit's up at number 99 at 9am. WHAT A BUMMER!
On the way back to BSM a flock of birds was working in the canal. So we kinda just had to stop and let Colon put the last nail in the coffin. After a foul hooked gaftop, he sealed the deal and put number 100 in the igloo! I had yet another great time with these guys as I do every year.
All fish were caught on live and dead Boogies under corks on Fin's Premium Superlines Windtamer. A few came on Full Throttle Flurries.
Fishing down here remains OFF THE HOOK!!! If you have ever contemplated a guided trip, there is no better time to do it, than NOW! GET ON THE BOOKS WHILE THE GETTIN'S GOOD!!!
