The winter is finally over, I cant say in enough! This has been one of the coldest winters on record. Mardi-Gras just passed and we missed the record for coldest by 2 degrees and that was set in the 1800's.Now on the other hand its over and the fishing has turned on. We are catching red fish in 2 feet of water on popping corks and trolling the banks with plastics and spoons. The reds have there fight back there no give up in these fish any more. They are making 2 and 3 runs around the boat. The bull reds(over 27 inches) are showing up on the edges of the gulf of mexico and can be great fun on the days with little to no wind. If you have never caught red fish in Louisiana, you are really missing out. The size of the fish in Louisiana is comparable to any other fishery. The speckled trout should start there move this month to the outer bays where they will remain for the summer months. To get in on these big bull reds give us a call at 504-669-1263.
Winter is over....
