Fun day on the Beach today. Onboard today were Charlie Mascagni, his sons Charlie and John (8), and friend Matt Martinez. It felt more like late September this morning than June. There was a stiff NW wind and the air had a cool feel to it. We started off in Eloi and John was putting Trout in the boat from the start. His Zebco was the hot rod in the boat today, catching the first, the most, and the biggest. The wind died down a good bit as the morning went on. By this time we had 50 Trout and a bunch of Channels and Whites on ice. We made a move out into the Sound. The water was crystal clear and the Trout hungry. It was like looking into an aquarium with all the Spade fish swimming around and slashing Trout being brought up from the bottom. These were nice 1.5-3 pound Trout and in no time the box was full, limits reached, and all the bait gone. Total catch for the day was 125 Trout, 6 Sheepshead, 1 Pompano, 1 Flounder, several Channels and Whites, and 1 Grouper (released). It was a great day for all and they said it was the most fun Trout fishing they ever had.

The legend continues. Blackie Campo's is open with live bait, ice, fuel, and 2 back down ramps. Come on down and see what a great fishery we have in the Shell Beach area.
