Two fish filled days Thursday and Friday on the Beach. The Hometrust Mortgage group from Houston came down for two days of fishing fun. On day one I had Scott, Greg, Scott, and Wayne on my boat. We started off with a stop by Campo's for bait then off into the marsh. At our first stop we got on a good Trout bite fishing with Campo's shrimp on a Carolina rig and under a cork. The shrimp were jumping out of the water and the Trout were eating anything, top, bottom, live, dead, plastic it did not matter. The tide was falling, but after a while the tide was running very hard and the bite slowed down. We made a move and found some more Trout, and lots of Puppy Drum mixed in with them. Along with a few Reds and Sheepshead the Okuma reels were creaming all day long. It was a fun day and the fish box was busting open with all the fish. Day one total was 100 Trout, 25 Drum, 3 reds, 6 Sheepshead, and 3 Flounder.

On day two for the group I had Scott, Dan, Buzzy, and Russell. There was a front that came barreling through the area around 3am, but by 5:30 the rain was gone and the wind was howling. Later in the morning the winds died down, the sky cleared and it was pretty day. We fished the same area, but the Trout bite was very funny that day. The guys still caught plenty of Trout, but the bite was very light. The guys also caught plenty of other big fish to fill the fish box. We called it an early day so the guys could make flights home. Some how they managed to get all the fish packed up for travel, but not without having to pick up more coolers. Lots of fish, lots of action, and lots of fun by all. Day two total was 75 Trout, 10 Drum, 6 Sheepshead, and 5 Reds.

The Trout have moved inside and are eating up. Come on down and see what a great fishery we have in the Shell Beach area. Be sure stop by Campo's for their friendly service, world famous live shrimp, ice, fuel, and launch. If you want to get in on some of the best fishing to be found give us a call. Check out the photos of the fish our guests have been catching. For charter info call (504)-881-9966 or (504)-887-4960.
