Awesome Week Down in Venice Louisiana… If you were looking for tuna this week then you should have been in Venice. I had a great group of guys from Las Vegas in this week. We started out fishing for Wahoo. After hitting about 8 different rigs we called it quiets then started looking for tuna. We found a school of tuna in open water chasing bait. After trying a couple techniques poppers worked the best. In the next hour and a half we caught two yellow fin 10 black fin. We then called it quiets for the day and back to the dock. Day 2 we headed for the shrimp boats. Once we arrived at the first boat we dropped two baits down and immediately hooked up on a double with black fin tuna. After several more drifts we had 12 black fins on ice.

On our next drift we hooked our 110 lb yellow fin tuna. After a good 45 min fight we were able to get a gaff in him. We made one more trip back to the shrimp boat and quickly caught 5 more black fin and at 1 a clock we called it a day and headed back to the dock.
