Last Saturday night we had a overnight trip on The Stress Management with Capt. Kenny and our old deckhand/capt. Big John (BIG COUNTRY) for Lake Charles. Capt. John now runs inshore charters out of Lake Charles. He wanted to come down with some of his friends and clients for a change of pace. They did the 24 hr trip because he knows that is the best way to catch a lot of nice Yellowfin and Blackfin. He was taught by one of Venice best "Capt. Bobby Kenny" They use to run the 48' yacht The Reel Pleasure before hurricane Katrina claimed her. Any way they had a great trip. Capt. John's crew caught 9 Yellowfin from 40 to 125 lbs. The Blackfin were so thick you could have walked on them to the rig. It was a great trip until they had to come in on Sunday. The wind and weather picked up and it was a 8kt trip back to the pass.. This was one time you wanted to be on a 39' sportfishing yacht. The only person that was miserable was the captain. The crew were inside watching a move.

As Capt. Kenny was calling me about his trip my phone beeped and it was Capt Kevin in Guatemala. The two boats were now in Guatemala after a seven day trip of fishing and playing from Golfilto, Costa Rica to Guatemala. He also had a very good report.

We won't talk about the playing but we will talk about the fishing...

Day one: 2 miles out of Golfilto the Strike Zone 40' hooked up with a 400 lb Blue. After 20 minutes Seth had a tag in the fish. It was on for the next five hours. Strike after strike, Sail Fish and Dolphin. After backing down on a fish they had a problem with a bolt on one of the transmission. She had to come into Los Suenose on one engine. As she came to the dock late that evening she found her home next to a Louisiana boat...The "Done DEAL"...A very small world. The captain of the Done Deal got his first start on the Strike Zone as my deckhand...now Capt. Jason Buck ....Of course he new the boat and jumped down and gave the crew a hand...What a Captain. The next morning their was a 135' boat at the end of the dock...Another Louisiana boat. This makes the world even smaller...The owner of that boat owned the Strike Zone before I bought her.....It was called the Miss Rebecca and Capt. Myron Fisher was the captain.

The Jacpot with Capt. Kevin Aderhold didn't have as much action but they were in the fish all day.

Day Two: The Jacpot fished out of Los Suenose and didn't have a lot of luck.

Day Three: The Jacpot fished out of Los Suenose and was on the fish. Tagged one 400lb Blue and had a hand full of Sail Fish and Dolphin.

Day Four: The two boat were back on the trail to Guatemala. It was a 710 mile trip from Costa Rica to Guatemala. The crew had a great time and this was a once in a life time trip.

We have started booking our Guatemala trips for March. WE have two large villas with privet pools and your own staff to cook and take care of your group.
