Well the fishing has still been outstanding!!
Over that last couple of weeks our weather has been up and down, drastically changing from 75 degree temperatures down to 45-50 the next day and back up again. Just unbelievable temperature changes.
You would think that with these drastic temperature changes the fish would be just shell shocked and be "whacked out". Just the opposite, The Giant Reds have not missed a lick, "chewing" on just about anything.
As a matter of fact Doug Stange of "In Fisherman" and his camera man Dave just left the Lodge after taping a show for "In Fisherman".
Giant Reds is what he wanted and that is what we went after. From 15-42 pounds the Reds did not disappoint us. All of the Reds were caught in less than 3 feet of water, as a matter of fact; most were caught in less than 2 feet. Needless to say in this shallow water these giants were "ripping" line, taking 75-100 yards in a blink of an eye.
We tried an assortment of baits from swim baits, soft plastics, gulp shrimp, and crank baits. Fished with and without a popping cork and all the baits produced strikes!!!
If you want to experience outstanding action on "light tackle", great Cajun Cuisine at the Redfish Lodge, and just a plain awesome fishing experience; give us a call, or email me. We would be glad to assist you in making your next fishing trip the "ultimate" experience!!
