The past couple of weeks we have seen a dramatic roller coaster ride with weather patterns. Weather up to 80 degrees, then the next day high in the 60's, but one thing for certain the FISH have been the constant.

It has not mattered what the weather has dished to us during the past couple of weeks, every day has been a success. Of course, with the Mississippi River at a very low stage and salt water backed up in the river system there are many, many areas that anglers can avoid bad weather conditions and still catch fsh!

Kind of special at this time of the year, as there is plenty of action with Huge Reds, "slot reds", speckled trout, flounder, and Largemouth Bass. Probably one of the few areas in the world where and angler can catch all of the above species in one spot. Yes Bass, Redfish, Trout and Flounder all in the same spot or general area.

Tyler Chapman, his father Jerry, and Tyler's son Graham just finished fishing with us for a couple of days and had a ball catching HUGE REDS on light tackle. Tyler has fished with me a few times and this was his father and Graham's second trip. As usual it is always a pleasure fishing with all three of them. Graham whom I believe is 13 is turning into an awesome fisherman. This young man does not miss many and to watch him battle 25-40 pound reds on light tackle is pretty cool. A few times we had to chase the Reds, as in 2 feet of water these fish were explosive, ripping out 100-125 yards of "Tough Line XP 20 pound test " in a blink of an eye. Sorry to say we did loose a couple when we had double hook ups as it's hard to control both fish and yes we were spooled, but that just adds to the excitement (as well as the economy). Any way they left the lodge, worn and battered.

All the fish were caught on soft plastics, spoons, and crank baits.

One of their pictures below is dark but the backlit scene I thought looked pretty neat.

I do not see any dramatic changes coming that would indicate a decline in the fishing productivity..........so if you would like to come experience GREAT fun, food and fishing......Give us a call.........Also visit our web site listed below for further information about our services
