End of the line for us..summer is over and the kids are back in school..last trip for the week on a long holiday weekend..it was a busy summer but now we are slowing down..we are wide open just about every weekday between now and Janaury..good time to take advantage of the lighter crowds and spectacular fall fishing on the calm days..tuna are on the shelf and well offshore with the larger fish up in 350-1000 ft of water...Cobia are showing as well and late season snapper action has yielded a limit everytime...Also this morning, Capt Scott Leger returned with the Casbier crew from an overnight trip with 13 yellowfins and a limit of red snapper, the Postman crew struggled with yellows but came in with a nice catch of snapper jacks and blackfins Roberts son caughta 26 pound AJ..tuna is next..I had the Maristany crew and we had a little of everything..we ran all over but eventually ended up a heck of a box of fish..variety being the spice of life too..returned with one cobia, one tripletail, 2 flounder, one mangrove,a limit of red snapper,2 bull dolphin and 5 blackfin..best surprise of the day was my wife and kids waiting for me at the dock..this should be a regular occurence as our 18 man lodge and crew quarters is nearing completion..we should be open the first week of October..bring on the cold weather, close in fishing and SEC football!
