The fish have been slamming the baits. For inshore slams that is Snook, Redfish,& Sea Trout(SLAMMING).

The Grouper fishing has been HOT and FAST. There has been an average of 75 to 100 fish caught, with an average of 10 keepers per trip. The Keeper Grouper are running 8 to 15 pounds, occationally a 20 or 30 pounder caught.

WOW!! What a change with these unseasonablly warm tempatures. The water tempatures are hovering up around 66 - 69 degrees.

Unseasonaly warm weather has the fish in full action. With the increasing temperature of the water the fish have been feeding. With the crazy warm weather we are having has the fish confused. They are not sure if they should head up river to their winter haunts or to stay outside and feed. This has made for some excellent snook and redfish bites lately.

Although the hot weather has been here for some time, the catches have been surprisingly good. Of course, it's an early morning bite and is usually over by 10:30 or 11:00 a.m. for me.

Spin fishing and fly anglers had a great week onboard the Maverick. Since most were inexperienced anglers, we opted for trout on the grass flats just off the intracoastal waterway in about 4-5 feet of water.
