[Pine Island Sound,FL] Despite weather changing daily we caught Redfish, Mackerel and Grouper.
[Pine Island Sound,FL] Watching the weather up north on the news I really feel for our northern friends. Looks like lots of snow and very cold miserable weather, while here in Southwest Florida we spent most of the week on the water in shorts and shirt sleeves. Not rubbing it in but I sure wouldn't trade you places!
[Pine Island Sound,FL] Fishing conditions in Southwest Florida changed almost daily over the past week. We had it all, sunny perfect days with little to no breeze, very windy days with small craft warnings, all day rain days, warm and humid days and cool days. You can sure tell winter is fast approaching.
[Pine Island Sound,FL] Snook, Redfish and Spanish Mackerel were biting as they were on a good feed ahead of the weather change.
[Pine Island Sound,FL] What a great week! Beautiful weather, bait about as plentiful as it can get and good snook fishing. Not a bad way to spend the week before Thanksgiving.
[Pine Island Sound,FL] The sun was out the temperature was perfect but the wind was relentless.
[Pine Island Sound,FL] We hit November and it still feels like summer. Not all bad as both bait and predator fish are staging in our waters awaiting cooler days to push them south for the winter.
[Pine Island Sound,FL] After a cold and windy start to the week the beautiful weather returned and fishing got back on track in Southwest Florida.
[Pine Island Sound,FL] After what seemed like an endless summer relief has finally arrived. Ahead of the cooler weather fishing was good as both snook and redfish were on a pre-front feed.
[Pine Island Sound,FL] During the Fall run of October I would like to tell you the fishing was hot. However this week I must report that the weather was hotter.
[Pine Island Sound,FL] October in Southwest Florida means fish are on the move. With lots of bait and predators all kinds of opportunities present themselves.
[Pine Island Sound,FL] The fall run of redfish continues to gain momentum as we exit summer.
[Pine Island Sound,FL] As summer winds down the Fall redfish Schools are arriving right on Schedule. While most of these reds are running oversize, snook was a different story as most caught the first week of season were undersized.
[Pine Island Sound,FL] Despite what is probably our hottest month in Southwest Florida there are still a variety of fish to catch.
[Pine Island Sound,FL] Mangrove snapper and spanish mackerel were good targets during the mid day heat. And the best chances at hooking a tarpon or shark came during the late afternoon and evening hours.
[Pine Island Sound,FL] With the hot days of summer and kids out of school its a good idea to take advantage of the species that can provide the best action. And in southwest Florida Mangrove snapper and blacktip Sharks are right at the top of the list.
[Pine Island Sound,FL] Perfect weather conditions made fishing in Southwest Florida an absolute pleasure this week
[Pine Island Sound,FL] Tarpon and snook dominated the fishing in Southwest Florida. While the tarpon are getting all the attention this is the best time of year to catch both.
[Pine Island Sound,FL] Unstable weather created a tough week for anglers. The fish were there you just had to dodge storms daily.
[Pine Island Sound,FL] The tarpon are thick from the beaches of Sanibel up through Charlotte Harbor. Some days they could be sighted free jumping everywhere while on other days they played hard to find.
[Pine Island Sound,FL] After a long windy wait the tarpon have arrived. Large pods of fish were found throughout the waters of Southwest Florida.
[Pine Island Sound,FL] This week we were fishing for sharks each day. A large group of anglers from Denmark arrived for their annual week of shark fishing day and night.
[Pine Island Sound,FL] Snook fishing was fair but not great heading into the end of season. Big sea trout and spanish mackerel were biting well and the "big boys" including tarpon and sharks are making their way inshore.
[Pine Island Sound,FL] Our fishing had its ups and downs this week, it wasn't overall great and it wasn't bad. If you were open minded and took what each day gave you fishing was actually pretty good
[Pine Island Sound,FL] Wind has been the story for the better part of the past five weeks and this week was no exception. A late season cool front dropped down early in the week and slowed the bite for a few days, but the fishing picked right back up again by the end of the week.
