Look for some very nice mahi and kingfish to be caught while kite fishing for sails. Closer to shore there will herds of hungry tarpon waiting to gorge themselves during the shrimp runs. Also look for Spanish mackerel to be on the prowl around inlets and anywere were baitfish congregate. These fish are great target on artificials or even fly tackle when they are chummed up into a frenzy.

South Florida recently experienced a major cold spell that adversely affected the snook, small tarpon and bonefish populations. Small jack crevalles, ladyfish, mangrove snapper, catfish and a number of other species that moved to deeper warmer water along with the snook and tarpon found themselves with nowhere to run when water temperatures continued to drop causing them to go into shock and eventually die.

The Holiday season has arrived with a bang. On Thanksgiving morning my nephew from Atlanta, Kevin Cote and I did a little fishing along the edge. We caught 3 nice mutton snappers, a small tuna, bonito, shark, a bunch of big blue runners and a beautiful tarpon.

We've gone from calm weather to windy weather. With each condition, there has been a general lack of north current. A few sailfish are being caught, however, the best catches aboard Knot Nancy have been with dolphin, kingfish, bonito, and some mutton snapper.
