Beat The Heat By Fishing Deep by
Dave Kostyo
(8/17/2009)
Surface water temperatures in the ocean have been between 88 - 91 degrees. In Biscayne Bay it's been even higher. With the temperatures this high, it calls for a change in technique to have a reasonable chance at a successful trip.

Fishing on the edge has still been the best bet. Even though we are entering August and the water is plenty warm, there are still a lot of fish around.

Best Bet Off Miami, FL - Kingfish & Bonito by
Dave Kostyo
(7/26/2009)
The rod bending action for kingfish and bonito in the 110 - 150 foot range has and continues to be off the scale. Many times during a trip we are getting hit as the baits are being deployed and this happens numerous times during each trip.

Hot Summer Fishing In Miami by

Hello July 2009. Well almost. On June 29th our tough fishing spell went into trip two. This was the end of a short tough fishing run. We had a couple young men from here in town and after several good tarpon trips in a row the tarpon took the evening off.

Hot July Action by

Westerly breezes earlier this month pushed the dolphin or mahi way offshore. Things will probably change soon as winds have switched around. Look for snapper fishing to remain strong for a while.

Hot Kingfish and Bonito Action Off Miami Beach by
Dave Kostyo
(7/09/2009)
Since my last report, we've done our fair share of fishing along with Knot Nancy going into Whitewater for new electronics and many new upgrades. In general, we are now into our summer fishing mode. The unusual thing about this summer so far is the numbers of days that we've had south, southwest, and west wind.

Ron Walker has caught a lot of tarpon, but never one that was at least 100 pounds or better. There have been plenty of fish that fit that category and that was our goal this evening.
