In the past week, several small schools of redfish have been spotted along the western shoreline of Mosquito Lagoon south of Haulover canal. During mid-day, many of these reds have been caught on live shrimp when using light tackle.

During the past week, several black drum, red fish, and sheepshead have been schooling up in tighter schools due to the cooler weather. As water temperatures continue to drop, many of these fish have been moving along the flats during mid day in search of food.

Throughout Mosquito Lagoon, several black drum have been caught on live shrimp or a fresh chunk of lady fish.The average weight of these drum has been nearly four pounds with an occasional larger one.
