He is currently the South Atlantic Regional editor for Shallow Water Anlger magazine and is an IGFA fly rod world record holder. He operates a flats boat and a 23 ft center console and fishes the Lower Neuse River, Pamlico Sound, Cape Lookout, the Roanoke River, and the Outer Banks for a wide variety of saltwater game fish including redfish, seatrout, striped bass, tarpon, false albacore and flounder.
[Oriental,NC] I've had several good days of lite tackle fishing between Oriental and New Bern.
[Neuse River,NC] We have a sizzling summer top water striper bite on the Neuse and Trent Rivers near New Bern. Stripes are busting bait evey morning and crushing top water plugs.
[Neuse River,NC] Post spawn striper fishing has been amazing, especially on top water plugs and flies.
[Oriental,NC] It's hot but the fishing has been as well!
[Oriental,NC] Redfish and speckled seatrout fishing has been picking up in the creeks off the Neuse River.
[Oriental,NC] 30 to 60 pound plus red drum are here and snapping on the Neuse River. Come catch a redfish of a life time.
[Oriental,NC] Great winter mixed bag....heavy on the stripers!
[Oriental,NC] Specks, reds, stripers and flounder are all for the taking here in NC!
[Oriental,NC] The silver king is here in numbers and multiple 60 to 150 pound fish are being caught daily.
[Oriental,NC] The shallow water refishing has been good with a few specks and flounder in the mix. Tarpon have entered the sound and are biting. Giant red drum (redfish) are starting to show.
[Oriental,NC] Shallow water redfishing has been HOT! Big fish ....light tackle...great fun!
[Oriental,NC] The wind has been a factor this spring but the fishing is still heating up.

[Outer Banks,NC] Outer Banks stripers; looks like their biting into February.
[Oriental,NC] Neuse River striper fishing picking up and will continue to get better through the holidays.
[Oriental,NC] Fishing has been great in the Neuse River tributaries late this month and in looks like December will be hot as well.
[Oriental,NC] Cool weather has turned the late fall fishing is hot!
[Oriental,NC] Mr. Bob Clouser returned to Oriental to fish with me this past week.

[Oriental,NC] The tarpon are here and biting and the shallow water redfish, seatrout and flounder fishing is still going strong.

[Oriental,NC] The summer fishing pattern has started and fishing has been good for specks and reds.
[Oriental,NC] Specks, reds, flounder, bluefish, black drum and more out of Oriental: The fishing has already been good and will only get better. I am fishing full and long half day trips from my 23 ft center console for up to 4 anglers and weather permitting my flats boat for up to 2. Look for great fishing all summer.

[Oriental,NC] I have started to pick up specks and reds in the Oriental area and hickory shad and stripers at New Bern....things are heating up!

[Outer Banks,NC] After a slow start to the OBX striper season we were able to put some jumbos on the deck.
[Outer Banks,NC] It has been a very mild winter here in NC! The giant Outer Banks Striper fishing has been slow. After a cold front this past week I was off to Manteo to try my luck. Fridays half day trip was a bust…not enough time to head north to find fish, but Sat and Sun full days produced…not big numbers but very big fish!!
[Oriental,NC] The fishing has been very good in the creeks off the Neuse this winter. I am catching specks, puppy drum, flounder, stripers and largemouth bass. I do have an open date Jan 10.
[Oriental,NC] Our late fall fishing has been as good as it gets. Specks and reds and in the river and the protected creeks in numbers.
[Oriental,NC] The fall action is really heating up!! I have a limited number of open dates available for fishing out of Oriental and New Bern for redfish, specks, stripers, flounder and weakfish or out of Beaufort for false albacore.

[Oriental,NC] The cooler late September temperatures have sparked off the fall fishing pattern.

[Oriental,NC] Tarpon have shown in the Lower Neuse River and Pamlico Sound in numbers and are biting. Most of the fish are 5o to 100 pounds.
