The Sailfish are FINALLY here by Andrew Roydhouse (2006-11-30 10:07:55)
[Fort Lauderdale] The sailfish bite was hot this week. Finally some good action on sails out there. Well guys, although in the past few weeks we've been catching a sailfish here, a sailfish there, they haven't been biting as good as they usually do. This week the sailfishing was off the scale. Every day this week we have been seeing multiple sailfish on the kite and on the troll. Even the drift boat has been catching sails this week using dead ballyhoo.
The Biggest Game in Town! by Cary Hanna (2006-11-20 12:35:26)
[Fort Lauderdale] If you really want to gamble, come out for a day or night of fishing on board the New Lattitude. Right now the Sailfish are pushing through Ft. Lauderdale and will continue to increase in larger pods as we get into the winter season. Kingfish are showing up bigger than the usual 5-10 pounders as fish over 20 pounds are being caught with the occasional smoker. Mahi-Mahi have been scarce on the reef but that can change from day to day as I'm expecting to see some nice fish show up on the days the northeast winds blow.
New Boat - 34 Seavee With Twin Verado's by Dean Panos (2006-11-13 19:25:21)
[Miami] The new boat has arrived. I received my new 34ft SeaVee with twin Verado's late last week. I had the bottom painted this week and did my first trip with it today. The new boat is absolutely great. It is similar to the last one with a few minor changes. The last boat was absolutely great and held up extremely well. This boat will surely do the same if not better. Everything on the boat is new including all the Furuno electronics and a new TR-1 autopilot. The motors are 2007 Mercury Verado 275 HP outboards. These motors are a bit stronger and a bit more fuel efficient than the previous year.
Miami and Key Biscayne Fishing Report by Gil Gutierrez (2006-11-13 19:24:50)
[Miami] Catching sailfish and kingfish on the edge. The title kind of gives you a hint of what has been going on aboard the Lucky27. We have had several cold fronts pass in the past couple of weeks and that has given the fishing the jumpstart we were looking for. As the fronts travel from north to south they push sailfish and other game fish into the warmer waters off the coast of Miami. And with every passing cold front the fishing gets better in Miami.
Sailfish are starting to Show Up! by Joe McGivern (2006-11-06 19:51:24)
[Miami] Winter sailfish action is here!WIth the strong north east wind, we are seeing more and more sailfish showing up! Lets get them!
November Fishing So Far... by Andrew Roydhouse (2006-11-06 18:33:22)
[Fort Lauderdale] Guys, the wind was howling this week so we didn't go out as much as we usually do. We still pocked our noses out there a few times. The Swordfishing the other night was phenomenal. Everyone that went out there caught swordies, and mutliple ones at that. Our charter boat went out on a swordfish run the other night and was 4/7. It was a really crazy night of fishing. One of the best swordfishing trips I've seen in a while.
November Means Wind and Good Fish by Bouncer Smith (2006-11-06 18:11:48)
[Miami] Boy! November is living up to it's reputation. Winds were calm on the first, then rain on the second. We all know how hard the wind has blown since then. We expect two things in November. One is great fishing and the other is windy weather. The good sailors will catch a lot of great fish.

Mako Shark Wins Swordfish by Neil Gryder (2006-10-03 21:52:22)
[Venice] This is a report written by Kai Dominick who fished with me on the 27th with family and friends. The goal was to put a few tuna in the box along with a sword. I couldn't make the tuna bite happen with all of the cudas and wahoo cutoffs. But I was able to make the swords bite. I have found a new bait for mako shark and that is a Yamaha F150 we had a mako do it's best to chew both lower units off.

Hot Miami Nights Fishing by Jim Barlett (2006-08-23 13:17:06)
[Miami] The reports have slowed down as has the fishing business. August is, notoriously, the slowest month of the year both in business and in daytime fishing. The daytime fishing is sporadic at best with the sea temperature approaching the high 80's to 90 degrees.
