It was really cold today but we got a bite going for about an hour. Had to fish canals to stay out of the wind.

Weatherman Said Don't Go! But we took our chances based on meteorologist past performance. It was a beautiful day early and didn't turn sour until later in the day.

Cold morning winds made it hard to fish. This cracker is not used to and doesn't like cold weather but with enough clothes it's bearable.

It's often said that fish eat good on approaching fronts and yesterday proved it. While they stopped eating live bait they devoured artificial lures.

Cold Front Coming - Fish Still Eating by

The approaching cold front did not stop the bite. It did slow it down some first thing in the morning but it picked as the tide began flowing.

It was a super negative tide this morning. That's always good because you know where the fish are.

The past two weeks, almost every trip, I've had parents and their kids from 6-16 years old. I don't know why it is, but the kids are outcatching the adults every time!!!

Kingfish, Cobia, Bonita, Blacktip Sharks have all shown up on our nearshore reefs from 3-6 miles offshore. Light tackle and live bait make for a fun day and screeming reels!

Weather conditions have been perfect for offshore fishing. Large schools of bait on area wrecks are getting the grouper, cobia, and blackfin tuna feeding.

Fishing Caladesia and Honeymoon by

As any one knows who has fished in the last three days. 10-20 mile per hour winds is an epic under statement. although the fishing has been prety good for trout and reds, around caladesia and honeymoon. it has been a night mare to get any ware. The kings and mackeral are in great hourds out on the ten to thirteen mile reefs.

February Cold Fronts Fishing - Tarpon Charters by
Craig Lahr
(2/01/2007)
Feb. cold fronts makes all the difference. Now is the time to book Tarpon Charters. With the recent cold fronts, the water has chilled to the perfect temperature. With the water in the low 60's, the fishing has exploded. Redfish are in good number on the flats ranging from 25 to 35 inches. The best time to fish in on the extreme low tides.

The Best Redfishing has been on the extreme low tides. Trout have been in the deeper potholes. Don't forget the Silver Trout.
